Holiday Porch
Despite the dip in temperature tonight we decided to have a cup of hot chocolate on the porch.
While it was fun and we enjoy outdoors, we had to come in to finish our cocoa! Happy New Year!

SNOWMEN
Snowmen delight us...sculptures made of snow, as individual as the flakes that create them, snowmen have to be added to everyone's list of things that make us happy. They are a must to enjoy, as they are here today and gone tomorrow.
The beginning of a family of snowmen our kids made. |
They can be SWEET...
Who doesn't love Snowmen!? Fresh fallen snow brings excitement to families, like ours, who love to play in it. We dress our children up in their winter best and take them outside to introduce them to the wonders an afternoon can bring playing in the frosty white fluff. The crunch beneath our boots as we look for the best spot to make snow angels, and ice forts. If the snow is just right for packing, friendly little guys begin to appear as kids roll balls around the yard to create large rounds for their snow bodies. Traditional have a carrot nose, eyes of coal, twigs for arms..and over the years non-tradional snowmen who pop up out of children and children-at-heart's imaginations really make us laugh. Take a car ride during the snowy winter season, rediscover the beauty a fresh glistening blanket of snow can bring and a cheerful snowman or two to bring a smile. Here are some of our faves.
Snowmen aren't just for kids, this neighbor sculpts a different giant each year. Everyone loves his ideas! ...STOUT..... |
Their creative snowman built a memory the family still talks about. |

Prepping for the Holidays
The most wonderful time of the year , not only do we hear that but we feel it too. Despite the stress of getting our lists completed, our hearts lift, we sing more, smile more, even celebrate more. While Christmas isn't the only time of the year that we do kindnesses for others, dig into our pockets to share with others, extend our hands to those who may need a lift, it seems to be the time we extend ourselves more and allow ourselves to feel good about our good deeds and mentally lift our spirits. Perhaps the phenomena lies in the true reason for the season, the birth our Savior , Christ. As we honor His extraordinary accomplishments and strive to follow in His footpath often we look to the New Year with hope that we will do better to improve ourselves in the New Year. Merry Christmas to everyone and despite our stressful lists, lets try to Be Joyful!
Happy New Year!
