Graduation Gifts..

I began making a quilted pillow as a gift for my daughter to honor her years of playing soccer. In between the soccer themed fabric swatches in black and orange , I added favorite pics. Office Max carries a photo print paper that fits in your printer. Just select the prints and voila! Then I sewed them to quilt patches. The next addition was to embroider her various soccer teams, a picture of her high school, her initaials, etc.. One side I sewed the pics and the other had the embroidered images. I included blank squares so that her soccer team could sign it.

I then began making them for graduation gifts for some of our closer friends.....this grad was in the marching band and golf club, thus, her pillow had that theme..lately, I've been thinking it might be a business opportunity..

I am posting to BNOTP's Metamorphoses Monday and Craft o Maniac Monday.

Happy Armed Forces Day!

Today, May 21, 2011 is the day that we honor salute the brave women and men who serve in our Armed Forces. In war and peace these brave individuals make sacrifices far beyond what most of us appreciate. In the name of freedom, they give up the comfort and convenience of civilian life in order to protect our rights and liberties. God Bless them and their bravery and their commitment to protect our United States of America.
President Harry S. Truman led the effort to establish a single holiday for citizens to come together and thank all of our military members for their patriotic service in support of our country and it became so in 1949.

Spring is waking up! Outdoor Wednesday!

The weather was perfect Saturday, which meant, after the garden beds were cleaned, and our backs were aching.... it was porch sitting with Scooby. While resting our aging muscles, my husband and I enjoyed a cup of coffee and sat with Scooby. Some visitors came by... ps today I figured out how to protect photos, but if there is a less time consuming way than thru IrfanView, would someone please share??Also does anyone know how to post to multi links at once??Thank you for your time!
